Welcome to Ibegintoday
It's an exciting time for women's sports. Female athletes are featured in sports highlights, breaking college records for male and female feats, most viewership than ever before. The women before them have laid the foundation, yes; but let it be known, the here and now are breaking the barriers. They are motivating the younger generation to go even further. Not in just their respective sport, but in other areas as well. Marketing, business, fashion, you name it.
This website is dedicated to the female athletes doing amazing things on and off the field, court, ice. Yes, I said ice. We now have a professional women's hockey league started, thanks to the popularity of women's sports. These amazing athletes have given me motivation to become a healthier version of my former athlete. Sometimes the younger generation can show us older folks a thing or two. I'll be writing about my struggles to get back into the game, and their phenomenal feats during theirs. Thank you for reading.
I'm back
Last year, I posted videos of me attempting to exercise, book healthy, and lose pounds. I failed to follow through. I'm back to the basics with more knowledge, more fire, and more to lose than just pounds.
I've realized that obsessing over my calorie numbers, the foods I think are "good" or "bad" will drive me up a wall and slam me straight back to bad habits.
I've realized one or two slip ups don't define me as a person nor do they define my fitness journey. They won't stop me from completing my ultimate goal.
I've been watching a few YouTubers and gained perspective. These people have given me hope and eased my mind.
Dr. Mike Israetel (AKA Renaissance Periodization) deals mostly with muscle mass and men's fitness, but has been helpful with pointing out misinformation in the SM fitness industry.
AthleanX shows proper form and better workout regimens to enhance or cut time in workouts.
Doctor Mike (different from guy above) tells it like it is when it comes to health and safety of some wacky suggestions these people are saying all over the Internet. He debunks myths and so called theories.
Last, definitely not least.... Maverick Willett gives women, especially beginners, a guide to start this process. His motto is "do better than you did yesterday"
I'm paraphrasing, but that's basically it. You only walked a step yesterday? Go for two today. You only got ten grams of protein yesterday? Go for fifteen today. It's not about being perfect, but being better.
Check these guys out. Especially Maverick. It helped me. If you're having trouble, they'll help you too.
